Father Son Challenge

While in Indianapolis, Marie and I met up with my Dad and his wife for lunch. We decided to meet at Dave & Busters, which recently opened up in Castleton. We got game cards with our meals and decided to have some healthy head to head challenges. It's been a while since I showed the old man who the boss was.

Wild Game Safari Hunter. I win.

Nascar Racing. Jimmie Johnson (me) beat out Jeff Gordon (dad) on the final lap.

Basketball. Dad won this round.

Mini Basketball. Dad won the first two rounds, and I won the third.

Air Hockey. Best 2 out of 3. Dad won the series.

All in all, it was a fun time, but I clearly need to work on my air hockey and basketball skills before a rematch.

July 4th 2009

For the 4th of July Weekend, Marie and I went up to Ohio to be with her friends and family. Stephanie's (Marie's close friend) family has a house on the lake and each year her parents graciously let us hoodlums run wild for the weekend. This year, Marie's parents and brother came along as well. We spent Friday through Sunday at the lake and had a very good time.

Marie's parents came in on their motorcycle. This was the last stop on their 10 day excursion through the South and back up to Goshen.

Thomas Paul's (Stephanie's Dad) has a garage full of fun things. This is where we primarily hung out when the weather was acting up and during the evenings. As you can see, I took advantage of all the fun that could be had in that garage.

The traditional 4th of July drink is the Sneaky Pete. It's a frozen concoction that has become as much a part of the weekend as the fireworks and grilling. Careful though, it's Sneaky for a reason.

Of course we brought Taylor.... and of course he has a 4th of July shirt. He was able to play with Deuce and Spencer and even met Bailey (Stephanie's Sisters new dog)

As an engagement gift, Stephanie's parents got us Triad Technologies Coozies and a Shirt. Best gift ever.

Another shot of Taylor. He was unleashed most of the weekend, and was well behaved (as always)

When the weather cooperated, we went tubing on the lake. Kyle was the champion of the weekend on the tube.

It was great seeing everyone all together and we defnitely had a great time. The next time we will all be together will be our engagement party on August 15th.
