Panthers vs Redskins

Sunday, Marie and I went to the Panthers game! We got really good tickets from the Stubbs family and were very close to the field. We headed down early and tailgated with a few of our friends. Here are photos from the game.

Marie and I from our seats.

Player entrance

The Panthers just before kickoff.

For the month of October, NFL players wore pink to support Breast Cancer research. DeAngelo William, the Running Back for the Panthers, wore pink in recognition of his mother who is a breast cancer survivor. He fumbled the first play of the game.... that was not in tribute to his mother.

Marie enjoyed practicing her sports photography during the game.

Another action shot.

The Redskins haven't had the greatest season so far. As you can see, they aren't in the best spirits right now.

Melanie and Garrett's baby shower

Jay and I hosted a baby shower for his co-worker. I made breakfast casserole and we asked other guests to help by bringing juice and muffins. We played a few cheesy games.

The mommy and daddy to be went head to head in a diaper race

We melted candy bars in diapers and had everyone guess what candy it was

And then the best part GIFTS!!
We had a great time hanging out with friends and looking at all the fun baby stuff. We are so excited to meet little Addison this December.

Turks and Caicos

I went to Turks and Caicos with John, Erin and Charlie this past weekend. We stayed in a very nice villa on the beach. It was an amazing few days in the sun. Don't worry I made sure Jay had plenty of food and video games.

Charlie's search for the "Great Pumpkin"

Ric Flair Scratch Off Lottery Ticket

There are a few perks to living in North Carolina. The weather is great, we're close to the city as well as the mountains. Oh yeah... and Ric Flair came out with a scratch off lottery ticket recently and we managed to get our hands on a couple.

They have commercials promoting the ticket as well. If this doesn't get you to buy one... nothing will.

Wooooooooooooooooooooo!

Glitter Pumpkins

Thanks to Jessica and Ann for turning me on to Martha Stewart's glitter!!

Mom, Jessica & Parker in NC

This weekend my sister, mother and nephew came to North Carolina to visit Marie and I. We have been fortunate to see them in Indianapolis, but it was nice to have them come down here so that we could show them everything around us. They showed up Wednesday night and then left early Sunday morning. Marie went above and beyond by making all of Parker's baby food and borrowed a bunch of Charlie's old toys from John & Erin's house.

We spent most of Friday and Saturday running around Charlotte shopping and showing them the city. They were also able to meet Marie and Charlie on Friday for Lunch. It was a lot of fun having them in town and we hope they will be coming back soon!

Cousins - Taylor and Parker. Taylor is very good with kids and Parker got a kick out of being licked all over my Taylor.

Saturday we went to Dave and Busters at the Mall. We ate lunch and played some games. With our hard-earned tickets, we got parker a giant stuffed blow pop.

In the downtime, I would play video games. Parker joined me on the couch and had a steady fix on the TV. He doesn't watch much TV with Jess and Ken, but he is definitely fascinated by it.

Parker and Taylor again. Marie, being the fantastic care-taker she is, had a bunch of toys ready for Parker to play with when he got here.

Zionsville football

When we came back to Indianapolis for Labor Day Weekend, we went to Lucas Oil Stadium to catch the Zionsville High School game being played there. I graduated from Zionsville in 2001 and played football while I was there. Me and my dad still follow the games and try to see at least 1 game a year.

Zionsville won 34-14. They have a really good defense and a couple good running backs. Noblesville scored off one fluke play in the first quarter then again late in the 4th quarter against our second string... other than that they were held in check all game.

Rose Rose or as Jay calls her Esor Esor

I don't really have a reason to post this picture other than my aunt Rose did not want me to so natually here it is.

Charlie's 1st Day of School

Charlie is growing up so fast. This week he started sleeping in a big boy bed and is now going to school twice a week (and yes I know he is not even 2 yet). This last Thursday was his first day and it went very well.

Charlie's favorite things are TRUCKS. We have to watch his trash truck video almost daily. John and Erin are also having a privacy wall built in the backyard so Charlie likes to stand at the window and watch "cha cha's backhoe"

Nintendo Wii

You got it. We bought a Nintendo Wii.

Marie and I were out running errands and she asked if we could stop at Gamestop. I thought I was being tricked... but went along with it anyway just to see how it played out. We walked in and started checking out the section with all the Wii games. After a few questions, Marie decided she wanted to buy it that day. Her birthday is coming up in October and she wanted to get this as an early present to herself. Needless to say, I didn't stop her.

We brought it home, set it up, and played for most of the rest of the weekend.

Engagement Party

On August 15th, Marie's family put together an engagement party for us at their house in Indiana. There was a lot of planning and hard work put into this party by a lot of people. We truly appreciate all the time and effort everyone put into this party. We're pretty sure everyone had a great time too!
Here are pictures of the pool house, where the party took place.

There was a wide assortment of food and a ton of deserts. Special thanks to Amy and Dee for putting all this food together! It was all delicious.

Amy ordered flowers for the event and arranged them similar to what we are having at the wedding. The roses were submerged in water and decorative diamonds were all over the place.

A ton of people were able to make it to the party. It was mostly Marie's family, but my immediate family was able to make it up as well.

My dad and nephew Parker

All the bridesmaids with the Bride.

We also got a lot of great gifts. Thanks again to everyone!

Marie's parents sporting their new shirts they got for the event. Amy did a great job organizing the whole event and Jeff did a great job on his intricate "honey-do" list.

As a sign that the real party had arrived, the ladies had their own little dance party in the pool house. The iPod had the party playlist in full effect.
